Sports Tourism Becoming Popular

Posted By Admin on September 7, 2008 @ 4:25 pm

Unlike the "olden" days when people would go on a trip to a particular destination (for example, the mountains, Italy, and so on), the goal of vacations have changed.  Instead of going to visit a destination, most people are looking for an experience, and a great example of this can be found within the sporting industry.

It wasn’t until I read about New York sports tourism on a blog that I came across that I realized that there was a market for sports tourism.  Now, this is an opportunity for the tourist to experience those things that they only see on television - a true sporting experience.

For example, something as simple as experiencing a real Giants game instead of just writing about it on a Giants football blog can make dreams come true.

And that is exactly why sports tourism is becoming popular.

A Round of Golf on Me

Posted By Admin on August 7, 2008 @ 2:56 pm

My father and I have been avid golfers for as long as I can remember, and we go out twice per month during the summer.  It has not only been a good opportunity for us to bond, but it gets us out of the house so our wives can talk without us around.

But golfing sure isn’t cheap.  To this day, I don’t think that I have paid for a round of golf as my father pretty much pays each time.  That makes me feel a bit like a freeloader, but I thought that I could maybe change that.

I had received an email a couple of days before we were going about a website that offered coupons on just about everything: even golf coupons.  I did a bit of searching on the site and found some coupons that I could use in town and even installed the IE coupon toolbar so that it would be easier to find coupons in the future.

So, I will surprise my father this weekend and pay for our round of golf.  I bet he will be proud that his boy is finally a man.

The Great Outdoors

Posted By Twyla on April 14, 2008 @ 9:21 am

I am an avid lover of the outdoors. If I can be outside while doing it, I will probably enjoy the activity. Spring is about baseball, summer about camping, fall about hunting and winter about ice skating and sledding. There is not a season that I do not enjoy as there are always great activities to do outdoors.

I have found a new hobby that I absolutely love. I love to go out and play paintball with my friends. We have each purchased some new Spyder guns and we try to get out as often as possible to play with them. It is a lot of fun to shoot each other and we are all so competitive that it makes it even more fun.

I had never thought about purchasing my own paintball gun before and it is one of the best purchases that I have made in a long time. I have certainly got very good use out of it and I actually see no reason why we can’t play even in the winter. It is just another reason that I love to be outside.

Introduced to Golf

Posted By Admin on March 13, 2008 @ 3:48 pm

One of my best friends always invites me out to play golf, but I don’t go.  You see, I have never played the game (besides mini-golf), and I don’t know where to start.  But for me, part of the challenge I have is most of the people from work play, and quite often we have business meetings while playing a round.

I just found out the other day that the rest of the office has pooled together to come up with the money to get me a set of golf clubs.  In fact, they presented them to me on Friday’s board meeting.

I was shocked, and I didn’t know what to say.  It was one of the most thoughtful gifts anyone had ever got me, but I had to ask if any of them would give me some golf instruction.

As it turns out, the clubs were not the only thing they bought me.  They have also lined up a spot in the Arizona Golf School that I will attend in a couple of weeks time.  At the Academy of Golf there, I will be introduced to golf and learn how to play.

It will be so nice when I am done to be a part of the team - I have felt left out not knowing how to play golf.

Great Work Incentives

Posted By Admin on March 10, 2008 @ 12:50 am

I am in the market to find several cheap NBA tickets. I think the tickets would make great incentives for our employees to work toward and it would be nice to be able to reward them for a job well done. As everyone who works for us seems to love basketball, I thought that this would be the perfect incentive.

I went to the stadium to inquire about NBA tickets bought in bulk, but was not impressed with the prices that I was quoted. It would be way too costly to do it this way, and I knew that there were definitely ways to buy them a bit cheaper. I just had to figure out how.

I figured that it might just be best to buy NBA tickets as season ticket packages. This way, we would have a ticket to every single home game and we could send a different employee each time. I bought two packs, so the employee would get a pair of tickets and not have to go to the game alone. And the seats are pretty good as well.
