Oprah’s Endorsement of Obama

Posted By Admin on March 5, 2008 @ 7:13 pm

As some of you who watch Oprah on television know, Oprah has endorsed Obama as her choice for the next president of the United States.  This has not only given Obama a big boost, but it potentially has helped him recruit the many voters who were undecided.

At the same time though, I don’t necessarily agree with Oprah’s endorsement of Obama.  Now, I am not arguing that Obama is a great pick or that Clinton is a good pick either, but I am really just stating the fact that I don’t agree that a business person should openly pick one side or the other.

In fact, my stance as a business owner is that my business should be politically neutral.  Sure, I can have my own beliefs, but I also serve customers that have their own beliefs - who am I to push my beliefs on to them?

So, it is good to see celebrities supporting their favorite candidates, but at the same time, as a business woman, I don’t think Oprah made a good choice by her public endorsement.

Two W’s: Weird and Web

Posted By Admin on October 6, 2007 @ 5:51 am

Weird title eh?

Well, I just wanted to talk about two different words that came across my path today.

First lets talk about weird.

Well, what kind of weird news can I share with you?  Well, did you know that one of the weird news headlines that I read today was "Man gets screwed"?  Would it surprise you that it is now what you think?  In fact, I am sure it is not what came to mind when you read it.  Simply an employee was caught steeling screws from the factory he worked in over a two year period.  He walked out with some everyday for a period of two years.  It is sure going to be funny if he tells his fellow felons in jail what he stole… I am sure they will all have a good laugh :)

As for the second word of the day, web, it is regarding something I use everyday: web directories.  You see, I am constantly promoting this site and other websites I own on web directories in an attempt to increase my search engine rankings.  In fact, I submitted sites to about fifty directories today!  No one ever said I was lazy!

I’ll see what I can do tomorrow to find other words that start with the same letter.  Not only does it present me with a little challenge, but also gives me something to write about.  Be sure to come back tomorrow to see what I write about!

Ford Joins the Battle Against Breast Cancer

Posted By Admin on July 3, 2007 @ 6:45 pm

It seems that everyone you know has either dealt with or knows someone who has had breast cancer.  There are many organizations that help to raise funds to find a cure for breast cancer.  I was surprised to discover that the Ford Motor Company also supports this cause on a website dedicated to the Ford Mustang.

Ford is releasing a special “Warriors in Pink” edition of the 2008 Ford Mustang this summer in support of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® - the world’s largest network of breast cancer survivors and activists working together to save lives.  The package adds a pink ribbon and Pony fender badge, pink Mustang rocker tape striping, charcoal leather seats with pink stitching, an aluminum-spoke steering wheel in leather with pink stitching and charcoal floormats with pink ribbon and contrast stitching.  It is available in coupe or convertible models in either black, white or silver.  Ford is donating $250 from every package purchased to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.
