Dissertations Bring on Headaches

Posted By Admin on March 7, 2008 @ 11:28 pm

In January, I had the bright idea to enroll in a night class.  Now, this wasn’t something that was required for work, but rather something that I would do for fun.  It may sound a little sick, but I have always had a passion for learning and I thought that it would be good excuse to get out of my house too.

So, the first few weeks of classes were great.  It took a little while to get back in the grove of studying, but I picked things up quickly.  Things changed a bit when we had to write our first dissertation for an assignment.

It had been years since I had done any thesis writing, and I was worried that I wouldn’t know what to do.  But, I had a guidebook on the format the college wanted for any formal dissertation and I followed it to the letter.

I did come up with a great essay, but I also ended up with a four day long headache.  The same thing happened with the second essay assignment as well.

So, if I decide to take another night class in the future, I might just have to limit myself to a class that doesn’t require much writing - I really don’t care to have a headache.

An Inexpensive, Healthy Choice

Posted By Admin on March 6, 2008 @ 7:40 pm

Lately, I’ve been trying to make healthier choices in my life.  I have been doing simple things such as not eating junk food, to making sure that I’m taking all my vitamins.

It is vitamins - that I want to talk about.  You see, I have been taking liquid vitamins made by GBG for the past three months and I’ve been feeling the healthiest and most energetic that I have in years.  They not only appeal to my health driven side, but also to the side of me that is always looking for a deal.

Speaking of getting a deal, if you join their MLM program you can buy the product at a discount and have the opportunity to make some money on the side.  That is the route I took, and it is the route that I encourage my friends to go on as well.  Besides, it doesn’t hurt to make a little money and get a little healthier at the same time.

Looking for Zrii Distributors

Posted By Admin on March 4, 2008 @ 2:01 pm

1203958212_bigbottle It has been just a few short months since I was introduced to the power of Zrii Juice that contains the Amalaki fruit.  For those of you who don’t know much (or anything) about it, the juice has powerful preventative and healing properties.

The reason that I started drinking the juice was that a close friend of mine suggested I try it out.  Steve had been drinking the juice for about six months and he had found that he was healthier and had a lot more energy.  He noticed that I seemed a little more sluggish than I used to be, so he gave me some to try - and after that I was hooked.

But, Steve moved away about a month ago, and I have been trying to find Zrii wholesale distributors in my area so that I can replenish my supply.  Thankfully, there were a few in my area, and I will be getting in contact with them so that I can place an order.

I hope I don’t have to wait too long to get more Zrii Juice - I can’t imagine my life without it.

Not Loving Our Automated World

Posted By Twyla on January 4, 2008 @ 2:09 pm

I am getting so frustrated with my mother’s Medicare coverage. She has been diagnosed with diabetes and I am doing my best to try and help her purchase the supplies she needs without paying so much that she has to live on cat food. What is so frustrating for me is all of the phone calls I have been making and not getting satisfactory answers. First of all, I need a human to help me, not a machine!

I know that she is going to need some Medicare supplement to help cover the costs and I am trying to find out all of her options and the best way to go about securing the supplement.

When I finally got a human on the line, I was glad to find out that, because of her age, she was eligible for some free diabetic supplies. I know it still won’t cover everything, but it will definitely help and it was such a nice change to talk to a person, instead of pressing phone buttons to get to the next menu. Sometimes I wish I had a rotary phone and could just stay on the line!

Relief Comes in a Pill Bottle

Posted By Admin on December 22, 2007 @ 2:23 pm

As some of you know, my wife suffers from Asthma.  We have tried many different inhalers over the course of our relationship, but seem to have only provided temporary relief, not a solution.  After being in and out of hospitals on and off over the past few months, we needed some solution to relieve her asthma.

Thankfully, our doctor suggested that we try Biotek Ephedrine.  He gave us a prescription and sent us to the drug store to pick it up.  We had to stop at home on the way and I sat down at the computer to check and see what he prescribed to her.  According to what I read, many doctors prescribe Ephedrine for Asthma and there have been many successes with the drug.

After we went to buy Ephedrine, she tried it out.  Three weeks later, and she has been relieved of most of her Asthma symptoms.  I am so happy that relief comes in a pill bottle.

Depressed Seniors Benefit from the Internet

Posted By Twyla on December 20, 2007 @ 11:41 am

From time to time, I volunteer at a local senior’s complex.  They depend on volunteers to help out to make meals, entertain and teach classes.  I have been volunteering there for a number of years now, and I have recently been appointed to help out the seniors order their medication.

Now, I never realized that so many seniors suffer from depression.  But you would be amazed at the number of times I order Zoloft, purchase generic Prozac and get Paxil online.  It seems that every week I am ordering some sort of anti-depressant for someone.

Lately, we have installed a computer room in one of the spare suites to help “cheer up” our patrons.  Not only do we offer classes on computer use, but they also have access to the Internet.  We have found that most of those seniors that have used the computers and that suffer from depression have benefited from the use of them.

So, even though many of our seniors have depression, we are making progress.  I hope in the coming years, I could order anti-depressants maybe twice a week – that would reassure us that we are doing a good job.

Au Naturel

Posted By Twyla on December 19, 2007 @ 6:14 pm

I find that the world is in such sad shape these days. There are so many chemicals in everything from what we wear to what we eat. It scares me to think of what the next generation will be facing in twenty years. With all of my children, I chose to go as natural as possible, both in what they would consume, as well as the things that surrounded them on a daily basis. They all wore organic baby clothes.

Organic baby clothing contains no bleaches, dyes or chemicals and is safe for baby’s skin. If you think about it, most babies have contact with chemicals against their skin 24 hours per day. I did not want to do this to my children.

They also slept with organic baby bedding, as babies spend so much time sleeping. I have very healthy children and I attribute it to the fact that they had such a good start. I would recommend using these products to any new parent. It tends to be a bit more costly, but you can’t put a price on the health of your baby.

Ending Foot Pain

Posted By Admin on @ 9:03 am

Have you ever worked a job where you are on your feet all day?  When I was younger I worked a couple of jobs where I was on my feet for ten hours a day, and it never bothered me.  I had comfortable work boots and I was moving around quite a bit, so my feet were usually okay.

But, as I got older, things changed.  I went from one job where I worked on tile, to another where I worked on cement.  That was a shock.  Each day I would come home with horrible foot pain with no relief in site.  Unfortunately I needed the money and had to work the job, even though I was trading the health of my feet to do it.

One day, one of my co-workers came to work with weird shoes on.  She said that they were Crocs and they were the most comfortable thing on the planet.  I knew that she used to have horrible foot pain as well, so I figured that they must be good.  I decided to check them out at a local retailer after I was done work.

When I went to the Croc shoes store, a clerk was happy to help me.  I told her about my foot pain and she suggested that I try a pair of their All Terrain Crocs.  As soon as I tried them on, I was sold.  They were the most comfortable shoes I had ever tried on in my life.

Now, six months later, I am so very happy that I bought some Crocs.  It is a rare day that I go home with sore feet, and I can thank my shoes for ending my foot pain.

Hoodia Gordonii

Posted By Twyla on December 15, 2007 @ 4:27 am

I have struggled my whole life with being overweight. I have tried all kinds of diets and exercise to no avail. I have to admit that I love food. I am not one of those people who eat to live. I definitely live to eat. The only thing that I hadn’t tried in the past was the use of appetite suppressing drugs.

I did a little bit of research on the plant, Hoodia Gordonii. It is a totally natural plant that resembles a cactus. The insides of the plant are supposed to suppress your appetite. I figured it couldn’t hurt and decided to give it a try.

The first couple of weeks, while taking the Hoodia supplement, I noticed a big change in my appetite, but not so much in the weight department. Not to be discouraged, I decided that, results or not, I would give it a full three months. I was not to be disappointed in the results after all.

Using Hoodia, I lost more weight in those first three months than I ever did while on a diet. The greatest thing about it is that I don’t feel like I am starving or cheating myself because I can eat what I want and my body tells me when I am full.

New Technology for Braces

Posted By Twyla on December 13, 2007 @ 8:19 am

As an orthodontist, I am constantly checking out new products that come on the market.  The reality is that half of all children these days need to have braces to straighten their teeth.  Because of this very high percentage, technology is always coming up with something better in the world of braces.

I was pleased with the discovery of the Invisalign brand of braces.  What this entails is a series of clear retainers that are only removed for eating.  No one needs to know that the person is even wearing them.  I thought this would do a lot for those whose self esteem has been affected because of the need for braces.

As with all new technology, there are some downfalls to these new style braces.  The first is the price.  Quite a few people will not be able to afford the Invisalign braces as they are at least twice as expensive as regular braces.  The second is that patients with an underbite or overbite will see no benefit to using these braces.
