A Better Gift

Posted By Admin on April 21, 2008 @ 10:27 am

From time to time, I make the point of buying my wife a gift.  Most of the time, it is nothing terribly expensive, but instead I try to make her realize how much I love her.  I have given her things like chocolates and flowers in the past, but I wanted to do something different for her.

That is when I came up with the idea to buy her some bras.  She is always complaining how hers are all worn out and she needs some new ones.  So, I went to the store last night to get her some, but I really didn’t know what she liked.  I mean, I know what I like for sure, but I would guess that our likes may not mesh well.

So, I ended up buying three different styles of bras for her - hopefully she will like one of them.  The store owner also offered a free pair of stockings with my purchase.

I hope she appreciates all the work I did to pick out her gift - I will be giving it to her tonight.

Great Gift Idea

Posted By Twyla on March 22, 2008 @ 11:54 am

As my children grow older, it becomes increasingly difficult to get them gifts that they appreciate. They are too old for toys and we refuse to buy them the video game systems that they desire. We are constantly trying to come up with unique ideas for gifts that they will like and we will allow.

When I was complaining about this to a neighbor, she gave me the all-time greatest gift suggestion. She suggested that we buy the theme park tickets. There is a theme park not too far away from us and she said that when she got them for her kids, it gave them something to do, they appreciated it and she never heard them saying they were bored all the time.

I told my husband about the suggestion and he agreed wholeheartedly. Our kids absolutely love rides and the theme park has a lot of good shows and displays throughout the summer. They are always begging us to go and this year they won’t have to. They can go as often as they like.

One Of A Kind Shirts

Posted By Twyla on February 9, 2008 @ 3:22 pm

My cousin is managing a print screen company that creates custom T shirts. They create them in large quantities, as well as offering the service to just make one, if that is what the customer wants.

I like the idea that you can design your own t shirt and then go into the store and have it made up. It is a little bit costly, but it is so unique to have a one of a kind t shirt, that you can be absolutely guaranteed that you will not see anyone else in. I thought that this was a brilliant idea.

This past Christmas, my children all got gift certificates to the make your own t shirt store. I thought it was such a good idea for them to get their own artwork on a shirt. And, what a great keepsake that will be later on in life. I have to admit that I am completely sold on the store and we are now working on designing a shirt for Grandma for Mother’s day.

Buying Gifts Wholesale

Posted By Twyla on January 24, 2008 @ 2:32 pm

I recently purchased an order of stainless steel jewelry from a lady that sells it from a catalogue in her home. I like the pieces and I thought if I just placed an order now, I could put it away and not have to scrounge for a gift for a long time, when I needed one on short notice.

She does not usually offer her clients the opportunity to place a stainless steel jewelry wholesale order, but she allowed me to as I was placing a rather large order and she would still be able to make a profit. She thought that I had been a good customer to her and she knows I will continue to be in the future.

Buying the wholesale stainless steel jewelry did not hinder any business she will get from me later on, as most of the pieces I ordered are the same and will be used as gifts. I will still be placing orders with her for my own personal pieces and she knows that.

I Love My Brother

Posted By Twyla on January 21, 2008 @ 9:34 am

My brother and his wife own a jewelry store than mainly sells unique designer jewelry. It is not a fancy place and his prices are very reasonable. For this reason, his business does very well because there is something there for everyone and every budget. I always knew he would do something like this, as he has always had a good eye for what people would want.

I am also lucky because I know that every year, at Christmas and my birthday, I am going to get some luxury jewelry that I would never go out and buy for myself. In the four years since they opened, I have to admit that I have accumulated a nice collection.

He always gives me the most unique designer jewelry and says that every woman should have something that makes them feel pretty and that is what he hopes his pieces do for me. And, he is right, in that I do feel special when I am wearing them.

My Wife’s Engagement Ring

Posted By Admin on November 23, 2007 @ 7:25 am

Now most of you husbands out there probably just bought your wife’s engagement ring at the store out of a jewelry case, right?  Well ladies, you will be happy to know I took a different route.  What I did was custom design the look that I wanted for the ring and I hand picked the diamonds based on their significance in our history together.

My quest started in Houston looking at loose diamonds.  You see, I started here, because this is where I met my wife many years ago.  She was working as the receptionist at a car dealership just half a block away from the restaurant I worked at.  She was a regular customer, and we got to know each other.  So I picked the first stone from a large selection of Houston diamonds at one local retailer.

The next place I went was San Antonio.  It was here that we went for our first vacation together.  I looked for the best San Antonio diamonds, and found one that would work perfectly for the ring.

So, I came home with two diamonds and went straight to the jeweler.  Needless to say, the rest is history.  She loved it, and when I told her the story about her ring, she loved me even more.  Hard to believe that was so many years ago…

Christmas Gifts for Dog Lovers

Posted By Admin on November 21, 2007 @ 8:06 pm

I have a few friends on my list this year that are dog lovers.  Now for these people, I try to pick something that they will enjoy, but I don’t forget their pet.  I think of their dog as their child, and as the dog’s uncle, I don’t want them to get nothing for Christmas.

So, this year I am going a different route.  In previous years I have bought them toys, and I think they have enough.  Instead, I have decided to make them something this year: dog food.

The idea came to me while I was at the used book store.  There on the shelf was a book on homemade dog food - something I had never even considered.  Inside the book there were details on how to can the food that you made - this way I could make them some to have later, and I didn’t need to have all the dogs over for supper.

Inside the book there were some recipes for dog treats - and I made them each a bag full.  I really hope they like their presents this year, and I hope my friends appreciate the time I spent making their dogs these gifts - I know I really enjoyed making them.

A Birthday Present for my Man

Posted By Twyla on November 3, 2007 @ 9:56 pm

Well, my boyfriend’s birthday is coming up - he will be turning the big 29 shortly.  In the past I have gotten him a computer, rings, pets, plants - you name it, I have pretty much got it.

So this year I wanted to get him something different.  Something of some lasting value - something he might actually care about.  Lately he has been dabbling in in day trading - yet he has not taken any course - he has just been winging it.

And the returns he is getting shows that maybe he doesn’t know what he is doing.  In fact, if he keeps doing what he is doing, in a little while he will be broke.  I thought that some day trading education might help him out, so I went online eager to find something that would work for him.

Wading through the large number of search results I did manage to find the Emini Day Trading Course which looked very promising.  Even the price was reasonable, but really what got me was that the Emini Trading Course had a 60 day money back guarantee - so if the course sucked, we could get our money back.

I am going to order it later tonight when my boyfriend is out at work.  I sure hope he likes it!
