The Joy of Toys at Christmas

Even though adults love to receive presents as well, adults wouldn’t mind giving heed to a smaller member of the family if they find joy and pleasure in their Christmas gift.  Just witnessing that sparkle on children’s eyes let’s people know that somehow Christmas was made with children in mind. Besides, Santa only gives gifts to good little boys and girls; nothing there about adults or mom and dad’s.

It was very humorous, as parents once related how on Christmas Day when their child opened a Christmas gift and was pleased, they pretended to be a bit saddened that Santa Claus didn’t bring them any Christmas present. The child responded, ‘Because you bad mummy and daddy. You make me stand in corner.”

Toys play a big role in the whole Christmas celebration. Parents exert that extra effort and make sure they can give something special to their child. It can be anything from a dream dollhouse, or a bike, or maybe even a train set. The fun of getting a toy at Christmas begins earlier for children as they start to make their wish list and anticipate getting one or more of what they desire.

For teenagers, the most desired toy may not be a toy in the real sense of the word. A toy, in today’s casual speech, can mean a favorite gadget such as an ultra-stylish cell phone, an iPod, MP3 player, electronic organizer or even a computer. There are teens that are not interested in toys as such, there will be teens that love books like – Battlefield of the Mind for Teens , or perhaps Battlefield of the Kids if its more appropriate at their age.  You’ll be surprised to see that there are kids and teens that would be pleasured getting books too.

Toy sales at Christmas play a major role in the economics of retailers in the toy industry. Toy makers use the Christmas season to release new and updated products with the hope of capturing a significant slice of the billions of dollars that consumers spend during the holidays.

The strategy among toy makers has been to release a new product that hope will be the ‘must-have’ toy for the season. Consequently, they try to create buzz about the product and have a specific release date, all with the hope that parents and other consumers will clamor for the item and even make it sold-out or hard to obtain as the season progresses. Such driving demand can easily justify a spike in the price of the item.

If you look at it, not only are toys limited to dolls, trains or cars, but we have expanded to having a great variety of educational toys as well. Toys are computerized have sprouted as a result of its popularity as well as the increase in the use of technology as part of our daily life.

Receiving a toy as a gift at Christmas can play an important role in creating a lasting memory. When a child gets the right toy – one that is highly desired or is surprised by a wonderful toy – he or she will remember the feeling it brought for a lifetime and recall it whenever there’s talk of which Christmas was a favorite. It also helps to create a tradition as the child becomes an adult and wants to recapture a similar feeling by seeking to do the same for his or her own child.

On the other hand, there are those children who are just hoping to get something, any toy at all for Christmas. Companies, organizations, and businesses organize drives that would have members as well as people donate age appropriate toys for children that need it. Just placing a smile on these children’s faces will make their Christmas all the more meaningful. It spreads the goodwill and cheerful Christmas spirit that we all deserve to have during this season.

And wouldn’t it just be nice to look at the kids opening their gifts underneath a Pre lit Christmas Trees .
