Far too many people only undertake the task of cleaning the toilet during routine spring cleaning. This is a mistake. The bathroom, expectedly, is a site for messy and unsanitary build-up. Don’t neglect it throughout the year; clean it regularly.

Be on the lookout for a number of signs that indicate your toilet needs to be washed. If you see dirty residue lining the toilet, use cleaners to wipe the area. Sometimes there may be a foul smell radiating from the bowl, in which case it should be cleaned immediately.

There are whole lines of cleaners that you can use in your bathroom. You may have heard of several foaming cleaners or cleaners with tilted heads that make cleaning the upper bowl easy. These can make cleaning the toilet much simpler.

Simply head to your local supermarket and go to the aisle containing cleaning products. Look around for what you think will work best and buy it. Combine the cleaning agent with a rough scrubber and ” viola ” your toilet will be clean in no time!

You don’t just want to take curative measures when your toilet gets dirty. You want to make sure you take preventative measures to keep it that way!

Simply buy preventative cleansers that reside in the toilet for an extended period of time. These auto-wash the bowl over time and will allow you to clean the bowl less often and reduce odors between cleanings.

There’s a caveat, of course. You need to replace the disks that stay in the toilet either weekly or monthly, so you can’t just set it and forget it. It won’t require a full cleaning, but you’ll need to routinely attend to the toilet!

While these products can only stave off that next cleaning, you will eventually have to do a full clean. Your john needs a good cleaning every few months, even if you use these. If you don’t, you may need to clean it even more frequently to maintain a healthy bathroom.

Don’t join normal homeowners in neglecting one of the dirtiest rooms in the house. Pay attention to your toilet and give it care when it needs it. Otherwise, you’ll be facing an odorous, onerous task!
