Yoga has become quite popular of late, both for the physical as well as spiritual effects it can have on your mind and body. For those who may not be interested in some of the more physically challenging exercises used to gain height, or for those who were interested in yoga anyways, this could be your perfect introduction to yoga and height training, in a peaceful, spiritually fulfilling package.

Yoga’s major strengths are its focus on proper breathing techniques, which rarely gain mention in other circles, and its slow paced mix of stretching and meditative positions. Some of these routines are perfect for those looking to gain height, as they target the areas of the body that are most affected by poor posture, most notably the spine.

Here we’ll list 3 of the yoga techniques you can use to help increase your height, and possibly your peace of mind as well.

The Cobra – Begin this technique by lying down flat on your stomach, with your legs and arms both keep tight together. Now slowly raise your head and upper body into the air, while keeping your lower body braced firmly against the ground.

You can stick with that basic routine, doing it a few times each sitting, or you can also add in a slight variation, by using your lower body to help raise your upper body even further. Regardless of which you prefer, both of these techniques are great at targeting your lower back and shoulders.

Dog and Cat – This curiously named routine gets its name from the natural body structures of those most common of household pets, the dog and the cat. Begin by getting down on your hands and knees, spaced a fair distance apart, but by no means as far as you possibly can. Now tilt your head up into the air, stretching your body out to achieve this, which will naturally put your spine in an inverted position, similar to a dogs. From here you want to reverse that position, sucking your stomach up and tilting your spine upwards. Continue to alternate between these two positions, holding each position for a few seconds. Make your transitions smooth and unhurried. This routine gives your spine a great workout, putting it through a constant shift in position multiple times, stretching it out.

Downward Facing Dog – This routine also targets your lower body, as well as your legs. Begin on your hands and knees, with them as far apart as you can manage. Now thrust your knees up into the air, keeping your legs and upper body as straight as you can. This should result in your buttocks being thrust up into the air, with your body shape resembling an inverted V. Release this position after a few seconds, lowering your knees slowly back down to the ground. Repeat a few times for a great lower body and leg workout.

These are some well known yoga routines, and ones with proven results at enhancing flexibility and peace of mind, not to mention stretching out muscles and easing tension. That they help decompress the spinal discs is just an added bonus for those looking to gain height.
