It may seem kind of silly to brag about something like accepting credit cards when the power goes out, but our hotel does.  You see, we operate in a small town with a somewhat unreliable power supply, so it is normal for us to have frequent power outages.

Though there is talks of getting our town more reliable power, the reality is that we don’t have it yet.  This has definitely been a challenge for us as a business and we have backup power for the computers at our front desk in case of a blackout.

But what about accepting credit card and debit card payments?

Well, it was a problem for us until this past week when we found a credit card processing terminal that works either plugged in or with its’ own internal battery.  So, I think that we will now be able to offer a superior service to our clients, though we still have to work on having reliable power to our hotel.
