It is a very rare occasion that a band worth mentioning comes to play in our town. We get a lot of wannabes and some good bands that are just starting out, but the fact of the matter is that our town is just too small for any major name to come. It would just not be worth it for them.

My friends and I often buy event tickets for the big concerts in the city. It does tend to be very expensive though. On top of the price of the tickets, we have to pay for gas, food and a hotel, as the closest large center is a four hour drive from here.

We do splurge once in awhile, however, because sometimes it is just nice to get out of town and it also gives us an excuse to go shopping. We usually drive to the city before the concert and don’t come home until the next evening, giving us the day in the city.
