My son just turned fourteen. Now, this has been quite a change as he wants to be treated as an adult, not just a kid. Perhaps the biggest change we have seen is that he has started noticing girls and he is trying to get his personal hygiene and grooming up to a new standard.
Besides shaving every couple of days, and getting frequent hair cuts, he has been actively trying to get rid of his acne. Just like many kids his age, he has some pimples on his face, and he has tried many skin cleansers, but has has little luck.
I decided to help him out by finding some acne treatment alternatives to the cleansers he has been using. We tried using Vitamin B5, which helps control oil production in the skin, but unfortunately it did not eliminate his acne, it only reduced it.
While at the drug store the other day, we did find Vilantae, which promises to eliminate acne by controlling the oil production more than vitamins can. Also, the side effects are negligible compared to prescription acne medication.
We are going to give Vilantae a shot and see if it works - from what I have read online, it should work out good for him.
With all the hype and great reviews about iPods, there are very few people that don’t have one. Up until recently I didn’t have one either, but unfortunately my portable CD player broke (no laughing please). So, I went to the store to buy one, only to find they were not available anymore.
Not available? I was shocked. You see, I bought my current one back in 1996 and it had served me well. Sure it was a little bulky, but you got used to that. I had to ask the sales person what I should buy - I needed to have something to listen to on my daily run on the treadmill.
He suggested that I could get a "Shuffle" and get some iPod Shuffle accessories to enhance my experience. I had to ask him what a "Shuffle" was - I had no idea.
He explained to me that it was an iPod - basically a portable music device. All I had to do is an iPod to PC transfer, and I could put any song I wanted to on there. That sounded good to me, so I bought one and some speakers for iPod, and was on my way.
I used the getting started guide provided by the sales clerk to get started, and it is really easy. I should have gotten rid of my CD player earlier - this is much better.
The other day, I was looking into buying some promotional products for the company that I co-own. I wanted something beyond the pens and mugs that everyone gives out and I was sure that if I did some research, I would find something interesting.
Needless to say, I was amazed at the vast variety of promotional items that are available these days. It goes way beyond the days of pens and key chains.
My company produces soft drinks and I wanted to find something that would be a good match for that. So, I was really excited when I found promotional koozies. I purchased a large quantity of them with our company name and logo on them. We started a special promotion by putting one koozie in each four-pack of soft drinks we ship out.
I don’t know if it is the most wonderful advertising campaign ever, but who doesn’t like to get something for free?
Last week, my son was able to enjoy his first plane ride at the ripe old age of five. Now, he has always been fascinated with airplanes, and you can find a plane or two on the floor in his room to step on.
While we were on the plane, he had so many questions that a stewardess took notice. He was invited to join the pilot in the cockpit to have some of his questions answered. As he entered the cockpit, he had a look on his face like a child on Christmas day - a look of amazement and wonder.
The captain pointed out many of the aircraft parts that you could see in the cockpit. He taught him a new word (avionics) and patiently answered the five million questions William needed answers to.
He let William take some spare fasteners as a souvenir as we returned to our seats in preparation for the landing. Even a week later he still talks about the airplane ride and how he wants to be a pilot when he grows up.
Now, I am not here to wow (no pun intended) you with my leveling up skills, rather, I will tell you how I made it to level 70 on World of Warcraft (WOW) in just one day. Don’t think it is possible - I dare to say it is.
Now, forget what you have read in any of those WOW guides you can find online. Sure they show you where to go and how to do it, but can you gain 70 levels in one day? I doubt it. Though they may not show you how to level up that quickly, they can be a good resource on how to complete quests, how to accumulate WOW gold quickly, and can be a good resource if you are looking for something in particular.
But like I said, I made level 70 in one day. How did I do it? Well, have you heard of sites that sell WOW accounts? Well, the way these work, is you can buy the character you want, at the level you want, with the items you want. You pay for this account in real life, with real money (not game money) and the account is delivered to you usually within 24 hours.
So, if you want to be high level, without wasting any time, just buy an account - the amount of time you save is well worth the money.
A big part of the responsibility of being a parent, is moderating what your child does and sees. Depending on their age, you should help them choose what to watch on television and what video games they play.
I am at the point where my children want to play video games - and I need to step in and help them make responsible choices. Since I do not know a whole lot about the video games today, I make choices based on the reviews I read.
From the Wii game reviews and Xbox 360 game reviews I read, my choice is clear: the Xbox 360 is not appropriate for my children. Their games are full of violence and geared towards adults - and for my five year old, he would be to impressionable to play those games.
So, my decision is clear - I should get a Nintendo Wii. With the bunch of family oriented game and potential exercise they could get from playing, this is definitely what I will buy.
I have been looking at various employment opportunities in my area. I haven’t decided if I really want a new job or not, but it doesn’t hurt to look. It is good to know what is out there, and be able to see opportunities when they arise.
Now, there are your usual jobs such as restaurant help, office help, and manual labor, but those are not really for me. I would be interested in something involving technology and money - two of my favorite things in life.
Strangely I am in luck. It seems that a local ATM rental company is in need for salespersons to sell and rent their mobile ATM machines.
I have to admit, I don’t know much about the technical aspects of an ATM, but I sure know how to use them. But my lack of knowledge is only a search away - I will go online and do some research on mobile ATMs and learn everything I need to know.
This definitely sounds interesting, I will have to do a little more research on the company and go down there to check it out. Maybe I have found a reason to switch jobs - we’ll have see what my searches turn up.
